Christ is risen! He is risen indeed.

PRELUDE Christ Arose! arr. Teresa Wilhelmi

*INVOCATION (Liturgists words; Congregation’s words)
God is with us in the loving and crucified and risen Christ,
and the kingdom of heaven has drawn near.
This is the day when light fills the darkness
through all time and space, through all hearts and minds.
This is the day when God’s answer is given;
this is the day that grace and truth arise in all.
This is the holy day that God has made;
let us embrace this day and rejoice and be glad.

*HYMN 113 Christ the Lord is Risen Today

PRAYER OF HOPE
Holy Source of Truth and Love and Life and Goodness,
you abide in us and we abide in you; you send us to testify to your truth;
so why have we forsaken thee?
We pray today
that we will come to see your Truth, receive your Life, live your Goodness.
We pray today
that we will learn to tend your green gardens,
love your blue depths, treasure your rainbowed creatures.
We pray today
to wake and rise and walk with you, to ascend the heights you hope for us,
and come to have your Easter in our souls.
And for these hopes we pray as your blessed one taught:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen

ASSURANCE
Dear friends, hear the divine covenant for one and all:
God’s truth is placed within your heart and inscribed within your mind;
And God’s grace is ceaselessly given that you may be renewed
and fulfill God’s hope.

SERMON EASTER: MORE THAN YOU HAVE EVER EXPECTED

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH from the Apostles & Nicene Creeds
All: Gracious God, you are with us and we trust in you,
the All in all, creator of heaven and earth,
source of all things seen or unseen.
And we trust in Christ Jesus, one with you & one with us,
your child, our brother,
Men: conceived of your Spirit of grace and truth
and born of the maiden Mary
to bring good news of justice and love and peace upon the earth;
Women: who was crucified under Pilate
and entombed in death,
and raised to you to come again in glory
for all the living and the dead.
All: And we trust in your Holy Spirit, the giver of life,
and in your holy universal church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, resurrection from death,
and the life of the world to come, Amen.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow

Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise God who loves both high and low;
Praise God who dwells in every heart;
Praise God from whom we never part.

Serve God by whose great grace we’re healed;
Serve God whose way our Christ revealed;
Serve God whose way is always good;
Serve God who loves the way we could.

What Wondrous Love Is This

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul?
What wondrous love is this, O my soul?
What wondrous love is this that is the Savior’s gift
and lifts my life to bliss, O my soul, O my soul,
and lifts my life to bliss, O my soul.

God’s Spirit flows within, O my soul, O my soul.
God’s Spirit flows within, O my soul.
God’s Spirit flows within and lifts away all sin,
and makes me new again, O my soul, O my soul,
and makes me new again, O my soul.

Let caring be my praise, O my soul, O my soul.
Let caring be my praise, O my soul.
Let caring be my praise, and every spirit raise
to joy for all their days, O my soul, O my soul,
to joy for all their days, O my soul.
